PGY1 Resident Application Requirements

Fourth year medical students who would like to become a PGY 1 should contact their schools for Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS) information. All applications for PGY 1 positions should go through ERAS ONLY. We encourage you to apply early and submit application materials as soon as they become available. Your application does not have to be complete in order to begin the application process.

A complete internship application includes:
  • Common application
  • Medical school transcript
  • COMLEX transcript (Levels 1 and 2 CE and PE)
  • Personal statement
  • Curriculum Vitae
  • Three letters of recommendation
  • MSPE (application will be reviewed without MSPE, as long as rest of application is complete)

Please note that it is RowanSOM's GMEC policy that any student who does not have a passing score on their COMLEX PE will not be ranked in the NMS Match (this includes those who have failed the exam, but subsequently passed).
