Scholarships

Amongst all of our students, 82% receive some level of financial aid and more than 100 scholarships are awarded annually. This funding gives us the opportunity to attract and retain the most promising students, regardless of financial ability. You can contribute to scholarships through the Annual Fund, existing scholarship funds or sponsor an individual annual scholarship with a minimum gift of $1,000.

SOM Annual Fund

Scholarship support for students who demonstrate academic excellence and participate in service activities. It also funds special projects.

Jim Fox Endowed Scholarship Fund

This scholarship honors the late James Fox, class of 1999. It is awarded annually to qualified, non-traditional medical students.

Dr. Robert L. Thompson Endowed Scholarship Fund

Dr. Robert L. Thompson’s memory is honored through this scholarship. It is awarded to an incoming SOM student whose undergraduate record demonstrates outstanding achievement in one of the liberal arts.

Charles Steiner, D.O., Alumni and Friends Endowed Fellowship for Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine

The SOM Alumni Association, along with leaders in osteopathic medicine and members of the Steiner family, has started a campaign to raise $1 million in Dr. Steiner's name to support the NMM/OMM residency program at RowanSOM. The campaign will establish perpetual funding for a board-eligible/board-certified D.O. who is interested in promoting the unique qualities of osteopathic physicians by expanding his/her OMM knowledge.

Student Enrichment

Our students learn through traditional education, service to the community and additional career-focused opportunities. Our Student Enrichment funds extend beyond the classroom and enable students to participate in skill-building activities that enhance their educational and professional careers.

Project Activity Fund

This fund helps underwrite student programs, provides funding for educational and recreational equipment for students, and supports students who attend national/regional medical conferences.

Student Club Travel Fund

You can direct your support toward a specific student club or clubs, which gives those students financial support to attend symposiums, as well as international/domestic travel to underserved regions.
