Cost of Attendance Chart - Explained

The total cost of attendance for the Rowan-Virtua DO Program includes direct expenses which are billed expenses like tuition and required fees, as well as general estimates for indirect expenses, such as books, loan fees, transportation, room and board, and personal expenses. The cost of your education varies each year, dependent upon your academic level, as well as state of residence. Information regarding in-state residency qualifications is available here.

Cost of Attendance Appeals

In some cases, a student's actual annual expenses exceed the estimated expenses included in the cost of attendance. In situations like this, a student may request a Cost of Attendance Appeal. Please review the Cost of Attendance Increase Policy, complete a COA Appeal Budget Worksheet, and schedule an appointment with a Financial Aid Counselor for more information.  

SOM Student Emergency Fund

The Rowan-Virtua School of Osteopathic Medicine Student Emergency Fund (SEF) was established  to support students who are in need of immediate, short-term financial assistance due to unexpected, acute emergency expenses during medical school. 

These funds are not designed to be used for routine expenses or as a consistent supplement to a student’s educational funding sources, including financial aid. Students who are experiencing long-term financial hardships due to their actual annual expenses exceeding the estimated expenses included in the cost of attendance should refer to the Cost of Attendance Appeal information above.

Any student who would like to apply for emergency funding can submit their request by clicking on the Application Form link in the SEF Policy and Application Process. Students should provide as many details regarding their circumstances and upload supporting documentation via the application.

Current and incoming students - you can visit the Rowan University Bursar's website to access your tuition bills and inquire about payments, third-party agreements, past due accounts/collections, payment plans and refunds.
