Education Focus
Dr. Pape-Zambito earned her Ph.D. studying lactation and reproductive endocrinology. She completed a post-doctoral fellowship at the Fox Chase Cancer Center from 2007 - 2011, where she was awarded a Susan G. Komen fellowship to study abnormal mammary gland development and progression to breast cancer. Dr. Pape-Zambito then moved to an institution where she taught General Biology lectures and laboratories, Human Physiology, Cell Biology, and Endocrinology to both undergraduate and graduate students. Additionally, she helped numerous students present research posters on novel bacteriophages and published ten student-authored bacteriophage genome annotations to GenBank. She has chaired or served on 12 graduate student committees. She has a passion for investigating and assessing evidence-based pedagogies in the classroom. In particular, Dr. Pape-Zambito uses active-learning strategies to promote enhanced learning and retention. She is a Problem Based Learning (PBL) facilitator on the Sewell campus and also contributes her expertise within the Graduate School of Biomedical Science.
