Pre-Orientation Checklist

To ensure that you are prepared to begin Orientation Week on July 14th, please make sure that you have completed the following requirements.

Important Information!

Your Orientation Week experience unofficially begins on Friday, July 11th with optional programming and early distribution of your personal laptops. The official Orientation for the Class of 2029 is scheduled for Monday, July 14th through Friday, July 18th. All entering students are required to participate in the Orientation Week programs and are strongly encouraged to attend the optional programming on July 11th.  Orientation Week programming is primarily in-person with some programming offered online and through virtual sessions.

The Orientation Website will the primary means of communication for important Orientation information, including schedules, presentations, student organization information and new student requirements. Please be sure to bookmark the Orientation Website and check it frequently. New links for required content will be added between now and Orientation Week. 

1) Upload Your Video Introduction - Please note, we are no longer accepting video introduction submissions, as the deadline has lapsed. 

We are requesting for each incoming student to film a 15-20 second video clip for inclusion in the Student Introduction Video. Your video should include your full name, hometown, and your undergraduate school. You will then answer ONE of the following questions:

  1. What is something no one else would know about you?
  2. What would you consider a unique quality about yourself?
  3. If you could meet anyone, living or dead, who would it be and why?

Please review the Self Video Recording Best Practices before you record and upload your video. You should name your video Last Name_First Name.

IMPORTANT: Please record yourself with your device in LANDSCAPE orientation, not in selfie/portrait orientation.

The Orientation Information Session for the Class of 2029 was held on Tuesday, June 24. If you were unable to attend the session or want to refer back to anything that was shared, you are welcome to review the recording

Please note that any submissions after the July 6 deadline may not be able to be accommodated. All students should submit this form, even if you do not have any specific dietary restrictions.

1) Register for a Fit-Testing Appointment
*If you are participating in the pre-matric program and already completed your fit-testing as part of the program, you do not need to complete this form. 

2) Register for Basic Life Support Class*
*Note, this is a mandatory requirement for first-year students. You should only register for one session. Please check your schedule before registering, as the sessions on Friday, July 18 are specific to curriculum track. 

  • SGL Students can register for the Friday, July 18 session from 9:30 am - 12:30 pm by scrolling to the bottom of the page and selecting "BLS SGL Students Only".
  • PBL Students can register for the Friday, July 18 session from 2:00 - 5:00 pm by scrolling to the bottom of the page and selecting "BLS PBL Students Only".
  • Both PBL and SGL Students can register for the Friday, September 5 session from 2:00 - 5:00 pm by scrolling to the bottom of the page and selecting "BLS Med Students 2029".
  • If you received BLS certification after May 1, 2025, you may waive this requirement hereYou will need to upload a copy of your BLS card to waive this requirement.
  • If you need to cancel or change your registration, please call 856-488-6889.

4) Student Financial Responsibility Agreement (SFRA)

  • This agreement provides important information to students about the cost of their education and the financial policies associated with their enrollment at Rowan University. By signing the agreement, students acknowledge they have read the SFRA and agree to the terms.

5) Register for an Annual Parking Permit

  • Please note, parking permits are required to park on both the Stratford and Sewell campuses. If you do not have a vehicle, you do not need to purchase a parking permit.

  • While the Wellness & Fitness Center is available to all SOM students, you must complete this process to have your ID card provisioned for access to the Wellness & Fitness Center. This is required regardless of whether or not you anticipate using the Wellness & Fitness Center.

6) Meningitis Facts and Questions

  • Rowan Virtua SOM requires a meningitis vaccination for all students living in campus housing in Glassboro. Specifically, the Meningococcal ACWY (Menactra®, Menveo®, or MenQuadfi®) vaccine is required, and documentation of it must be within 5 years of the student's enrollment date or after their 16th birthday. Additionally, the Meningococcal B (Bexsero® or Trumenba®) vaccine is recommended for all students and required for those with certain high-risk conditions. 
  • The Office of Student Health will follow-up with all students living in Rowan University dorms with information about specific meningitis immunization requirements. If you have any questions about this requirement, you should call the Office of Student Health at 856-566-6825.

ONLINE MODULES

Please click the above hyperlink to access the online training modules to complete on your own time before the end of the day Wednesday. Please review all presentations within each day's folder carefully, and note that some presentations may be housed within additional folders.

At the end of Orientation Week, you will be asked to complete an Orientation Quiz testing your knowledge of the online training modules.

1) Compliance Training

Please use a PC or laptop, choose Chrome as your browser window and allow pop-ups (see attached). Do not use a MAC book. If accessing the course for the first time, hit “forgot password” and follow instructions to reset the password. If using a laptop, please make sure that you can see the entire screen. If you cannot, use the zoom elements (control + to zoom in and control – to zoom out). When you are finished taking the quiz, please hit the X to exit out of the course. If you passed the course, your training certificate will transfer in the Training History.

MARK YOUR CALENDAR! Rowan-Virtua SOM Orientation Week for the Class of 2029 is scheduled for July 14th-18th. Some requirements, such as early laptop pick-up, fit-testing and pre-matriculation coursework will be available prior to Orientation Week.

White Coat Ceremony

The White Coat Ceremony for the Class of 2029 will be held on Friday, August 8, 2025 at the Pfleeger Theater on the Glassboro Campus. There will be a ceremony at 4:00 pm and a ceremony at 6:30 pm. Light refreshments will be available in between the ceremonies.

Mark your calendar and register for this year’s Rowan-Virtua SOM Drive for Scholarship, on Sunday, September 21, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 1:30 PM.  This tournament-style fundraising event, held at TopGolf in Mt. Laurel, NJ, will likely sell out this year!
