Faculty Appointment and Promotion
Faculty interested in applying for Rowan-Virtua SOM Appointment or Promotion should complete the specified documents outlined below.
Please be sure to use the checklist contained in each section to ensure that all required documents are completed. All forms must be typed. No handwritten forms will be accepted.

Welcome! Below are the steps to complete a faculty appointment at Rowan-Virtua SOM.
- Nomination: All nominations must be made by the Department Chair.
- Document Submission: Complete all required documents in their entirety and submit them in the appropriate order.
- Recommendation Letters: For those seeking an Assistant Professor rank or higher, three letters of recommendation are required.
- Provide the name, address, phone number, email address, and current faculty rank of your three letter writers.
- Candidates may not solicit their own letters of recommendation.
All required documents must be completed in their entirety and submitted in the appropriate order.

- The Faculty Development Series sessions occur on the 3rd Friday of each month from 7am to 8am via Webex. Most sessions award CME credit, and there is an archive of recordings and materials. If needed, individuals can receive verification for viewing an archived event.

Faculty Promotion
Faculty seeking promotion at Rowan-Virtua SOM must submit their letter of intent by March 1 of the current promotion cycle to their Department Chair and the Dean.
Faculty members should work with members of their Department Chair’s office when completing the required application materials that can be found below.
