The Department of Psychiatry has been serving the mental health needs of southern New Jersey since 1983. We are deeply rooted in the bio-psycho-social tradition of Osteopathic Medicine, bringing a unique holistic and empathic approach to our patients. Our commitment to our practice is emphasized in the specialized care we provide through the RowanSOM Student Mental Health Center and the Rowan Integrated Special Needs (RISN) center, as well as our work in research, teaching the next generation of providers at RowanSOM, and our partnerships with Jefferson Health, Virtua Health, Oaks Integrated Care and the Guidance Center of Cumberland County. Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine

Our OMM physicians emphasize health and preventive medicine, with a focus on the musculoskeletal system. Trained in Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment (OMT), our clinicians are able to use their hands to move a patient's muscles and joints through stretching, gentle pressure and resistance. By adjusting the surrounding musculoskeletal structures, we can assist our patients who may be seeking healing, preventing illness and/or eliminating pain.
