logo for the shop@somThe Shop at SOM extends the services of The Shop at Rowan University, representing a collaborative effort across multiple departments to address food insecurity among Rowan-Virtua SOM students. Located on both our Stratford and Sewell campuses, The Shop at SOM offers 24/7 accessibility, ensuring students have access to healthy food and necessary resources.

In addition to operating campus pantries, we collaborate with The Shop at Rowan University to distribute fresh produce to students every Friday. We also team up with Food Donation Connection to provide breakfast sandwiches to medical students experiencing food insecurity.

  • Make a monetary donations on our foundation page.
  • In-Person Donations:
    • We gratefully accept any non-perishable donations, in addition to toiletries and laundry pods.

Our pantry is most in need of the items listed below. If you’d like to support, donations of these items would be especially appreciated.

  • Oatmeal
  • Cereal
  • Soup
  • Cooking oil
  • Tuna
  • Canned beans
  • Pasta Sauce
  • Pasta
  • Shelf-stable heat and eat meals such as Tasty Bite brand
  • Deodorant
  • Soap (dish, hand, body, etc.)
  • Moisturizer/lotion
  • Laundry detergent
  • Shaving cream
  • Shaving razors

 

Students have also requested the following options:

  • Gluten-Free options
  • Halal options
  • Kosher options

Lastly, the Sewell Pantry now has a small refrigerator! If you would like to donate a refrigerated item, please contact Alicia Monaco at monaco@rowan.edu.
